ATTORNEY GENERAL'S CHAMBERS

Hongkong,

15th March,

19 20.

Report on Ordinance No... 3 of 19 10,

со

1/140

R. 16 PR 10,

I have examined the accompanying Ordinonce, entitled

An Ordinance to regulate the Law us to Oaths

and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to

the Governor's Instructions

478

This Ordinance when it was read a First time comprised the whole of the Oaths Act 1909 and Section 5 of the Oaths Act 1888.

After the first reading it was suggested by the Registrar of the Supreme Court and also by one of the Police Magistrates that the repetition of the words of the oath after the officer who administered it would entail delay and inconvenience.

While in Committee, the Bill was amended by the insertion of a new section 2 sub-section 1 which does away with the repetition
